JAMA HRT Study
The Journal of the American Medical Association published these study results on the effects of Synthetic Hormone Replacement Therapy. It was the first ever government funded study related to this issue and it provided some eye opening evidence related to the risks women take when they use SYNTHETIC hormones. (Most pharmaceutical companies only produce synthetic hormones today so that their products can be patented.)
This study examined 2 groups of products, all using only synthetic hormones.
- ERT which contains only estrogen.
- HRT which combines synthetic estrogen and progestins.
It should be noted that both studies were stoped early because it was determined that the risk to test subjects health were outweighing any benefits derived from using synthetic hormones.
