Are you experiencing irregular body temperature? If you are using a temperature based fertility monitor or using a BBT method to monitor your fertility you may discover that your temperature is not stable. This may indicate a possible thyroid issue. While it is normal for temperature to fluctuate to some degree, it should remain within a stable pattern. For information on symptoms that may indicate a possible thyroid issue please call our office.
Some hormonal imbalances may be caused by a thyroid imbalance and some imbalances can be caused by the thyroid. When this is the case a standard hormone balancing program may only provide partial benefits until the root cause of thyroid imbalance is addressed.
There are two ways to test for and measure thyroid function. Blood spot testing that checks TSH, fT4, fT3 and TPO hormones is generally used as a medical standard to establish the level of your thyroid function. The most common Thyroid issue is hypo-thyroid (slow) which can be treated with medical drugs. A more natural approach to helping the thyroid involves iodine levels. Iodine is found in sea foods and thus it is interesting to note that where sea food diets are more common, thyroid issues are significantly less. This blood spot kit is recommended for anyone who suspects that their hormone imbalance is being caused or aggravated by a thyroid imbalance.
Note: A minor thyroid deficiency may be triggered by an imbalance of hormones. The thyroid generally performs more efficiently if your bodies hormones are balanced. If your symptoms are not severe or if they only match part of the list provided above then we recommend that you first test your hormones with a
saliva test kit and then attempt to balance your hormones accordingly.
